Shamanic Journey is a gentle and creative practice in which to introduce one to the world of Shamanism. Through drumming and rattling, Shamanic Journey helps you explore non ordinary realities and find your Power Animal. Through that beloved ally you will learn how to access information that will enhance your life and the lives of those you love. The teachings are rooted in the cultures of Native America, the Celtic world, Africa and the realm of the Norse.
Shamanic Journey is an ancient practice teaching one how to enter the "Lower World" or as the Celts call it, the "Otherworld", a place where there is great love and a feeling of immense freedom. It is there the Power Animals are waiting to guide and teach you. Shamanic Journey offers the gift of healing, remembering, deep wisdom and the feeling of being extraordinarily connected to all things.
This class will be taught in tandem through two crones, Christy Gray and Barbara Odil. Both Elders in Athens Lodges, Christy and Barbara offer years of experience in teaching this ancient method of connecting with the mysteries.
Christy Gray has been Elder of The Grove moon lodges community for over 20 years and has taught Shamanic Journey in the US and United Kingdom since 1989. She also teaches The Blessing Way, a spiritual workshop in which one learns meaningful rituals for everyday life. She is blessed to be able to offer to the community, wise woman readings through MotherPeace Tarot, visionary work and the sacred ceremonies of weddings and blessings. Christy has accepted a spiritual path as her life journey.
Barbara Odil is a multimedia artist whose work and personal life are inspired & guided by her shamanic practice. Since 1995 she has taught the "Transformational Doll Workshop" where people make ritual figures to honor their life's journey. Her work is shown throughout the US & has been featured in newspapers, magazines & on television. She is trained in the Harner method of shamanism & is a certified color therapist.Â
Because of space limitations and the gathering of materials for the teaching of the class, preregistration is necessary for this workshop.
